As thoughts of vacations, beaches, friends, and fun swarm the minds of the students at GK, a pertinent question begins festering in people's minds. What to do for summer? While no one can provide a direct answer for this, a wonderful option is to watch a movie. In case anyone needs some suggestions in order to fill the time, here are some movies to watch and enjoy during the summer.
● Knives Out- Available on Amazon, Knives Out is a murder mystery following Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig), after the suspicious death of an acclaimed mystery author, Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer). Blanc is tasked with getting to the bottom of Thrombey death, as he begins to suspect it wasn’t an accident. Shifting through a multitude of motives, secrets, and red herrings Blanc is determined to find the true reason for Thrombey death.
● 10 Things I Hate About You- A rom-com on Disney+, the movie details the life of the new kid Cameron James (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), trying his best to date popular girl Bianca Stratford (Larisa Oleynik). However, before Cameron can ask Bianca out, he learns Bianca isn’t allowed to date until her older sister, Kat, has a boyfriend. Kat's abrasive personality against dating and people in general leads to the seminal end of Cameron’s chances to date Bianca. Despite this, Cameron refuses to be deterred from his plan, and hires Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to melt the ice queen’s heart.
● Ferris Bueller’s Day Off- A comedy classic accessible on Amazon, Hulu, and Showtime Ferris Bueller's Day Off observes the life of Ferris Bueller. As Ferris graduation day grows closer and closer, he decides to use his unique skill of cutting school to use, by having one last trip before entering the real world.
● 21- This true story drama on Netflix has Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess), an ingenious MIT student, change his career path upon realizing that a professor at his university runs an illegal card-counting ring. Intenticed by the money and the story, Ben puts his phenomenal math skills to the test and joins the group with the intent to swindle casinos out of their money.
● The Losers- Found on HBO Max The Losers, is an action/superhero movie where a team of specially trained military soldiers (Jeffery Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Oscar Jaenada, and Columbus Short) go on a top secret mission in the Bolivian jungle. While there they are betrayed, now untrusting of their government and presumed dead, the team conspire with Aisha (Zoe Saldana) to hunt down their enemies, and get revenge.
