Kids revel in it, graduated seniors long for it (but can’t have it. Please don’t come seniors,

you’re not legally permitted on campus) June 22nd transforms Graham Kapowsin into a

during-school festival for all. Produced by the Renaissance team, the End of Year Carnival

provides games, prizes, and food trucks for all to enjoy. Popcorn and snacks will be available,

along with free game tickets to win said prizes! For pay, a tie dye station will be presented and accessible for cash only. If you want photo ops with friends, photo backdrops can be used to capture the memories of the year. The carnival will take place during the second half of school, allowing students to freely participate in all the fun activities!

How do you feel about the upcoming End of Year Carnival?”

“To be honest, the carnival actually seems like it’s gonna be a lot of fun. I’m a little jealous that everyone else will get to have snow cones and prizes and us seniors have to miss out on that. To the underclassman, go to the carnival so I can live vicariously through you.”

-Anonymous Senior, Graham Kapowsin.

What are your plans for the End of Year Carnival?

"My plans for the carnival is to of course spend the remaining time that I have with my friends and considering in past years all of that experience was not there in a sense something was not made memorable due to Covid and just not enough being done to enjoy the last few days of school. But, the carnival is a really nice change to enjoy high school especially as it goes by quickly."

We all eventually have the experience of prom coming up and deciding whether we want to go or not, and if we do, who to go with, what to wear, what to do, and so on. So much work goes into prom, and because this year’s prom has just happened, why not talk about it? Prom gets planned for so long before students start getting involved, and the amount of work and expenses that go into it really deserve to get talked about.

This year, the teams in charge of prom chose “dripping in luxury” as the theme, and they did their very best to match the event to that, and so did most of the attendees. It was a beautiful venue with a well thought out plan for an event, and when I went as an attendee myself, I have to say I thought it went pretty well, and the time with my date, as well as all of our friends was a bright spot, and even if the dance itself wasn’t fun (it was), I would have considered it a good event to go to just to be able to spend time with all the people I ran into.

The tickets to get in did have a price of 40 dollars, which most people seemed to agree was too much for what was actually happening, and while I have to agree that it was semi-underwhelming, it seemed to be accurate as an event to what was likely spent on it.

In my general opinion, it was a decent event that was worth the experience, lasted a good amount of time, and had a good atmosphere to enjoy a night without a massive amount of trouble. I believe it was a good experience and for those reading who have the option to go still in their future, it would be a good choice to go.

While I was visiting, I spent time interviewing some guests to ask them questions about their thoughts on the event. I asked each of them four questions to cover the base of their feelings. The interviewees were kept anonymous, and what follows are their answers to what was asked.

Interview 1:

1. Are you enjoying the night so far?

Attende 1: “Yes, I am.”

2. Do you think it was worth the ticket price?

Attendee 1: “No, I don’t think so.”

3. Are you glad you came?

Attendee 1: “Yes, it was.”

4. Do you think there’s anything that should’ve changed?

Attendee 1: It’s fine as it is

Interview 2:

1. Are you enjoying the night so far? Why/why not?

Attendee 2: “yeah, I’m enjoying myself, a little sweaty”

2. Do you think it was worth the ticket price? Why/why not?

Attendee 2: “Im not sure yet but I think so”

Attendee 3: “It’s fine.”

3. Do you think it was worth the ticket price? Why/why not?

Attendee 3: “Theres food and music a little over priced though”

5. Are you glad you came? Why/why not?

Attendee 3: “There’s loud music and I didn't really come with anyone. So not really.”

6. Do you think there’s anything that should’ve changed? If so, what?

Attende 3: “Outside or maybe air conditioning would be nice.”

Attendee 4: “Some more lights and celebrations.”

1. Are you enjoying the night so far? Why/why not?

Attendee 5: “So far it’s been a decent night it’s only started so can only say so much”

2. Do you think it was worth the ticket price? Why/why not?

Attendee 5: “I didn’t pay”

3. Are you glad you came? Why/why not?

Attendee 5: “I’m glad I can for at least the experience.”

Attendee 5: “Nope, nothing.”

Interview 6:

1. Are you enjoying the night so far? Why/why not?

Attendee 6: “I am! I love the energy from everyone, so many compliments, the photo stuff is really fun. The high school experience really is here. Glad I had this opportunity.”

2. Do you think it was worth the ticket price? Why/why not?

Attendee 6: “I think it was, mainly because it was literally free for people with free/reduced lunch.”

3. Are you glad you came? Why/why not?

Attendee 6: “Absolutely, I get to spend a great time with my beautiful friends and my boyfriend. Everyone looks great, it’s really fun.”

4. Do you think there’s anything that should’ve changed? If so, what?

Attendee 6: “I think it’s as good as it could be. Maybe print more photo booth tickets next time.”
